Based on the Intel B660 chipset, you get access to an LGA 1700 socket which is compatible with a wide range of 12th Gen Intel processors. Four DDR4 slots can handle up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM, taking multitasking capabilities to the next level. Save your gaming library on an array of storage drives with four SATA III ports and two M.2 PCIe interfaces. Equip your system with an array of graphics and utility cards with one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. You have a wide range of inputs at your disposal, allowing you to connect low-power devices such as mice and keyboards with USB 2.0 Type-A ports as well as support for resource-demanding peripherals like external drives and audio controllers with USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Designed to manage proper electrical loads, the GAMING X AX offers a hybrid digital VRM design featuring 8+1+1 phases along with 8-pin solid pin CPU power connectors and solid capacitors that improve transient response while minimizing oscillation. Support for PCIe 4.0 devices allows you to leverage high-speed M.2 storage drives as well as powerful graphics and utility cards. DDR4 XMP support allows you to support a wide range of memory modules with speeds up to 4400 MHz. The GAMING X AX also leverages the unique design of 12th Gen Intel processors with hybrid core optimization which automatically adjusts CPU performance for gaming and obtaining maximum performance.

Thermal Enhancements

Sporting a unique thermal design, the GAMING X AX uses a fully covered thermal heatsink to prevent buildup over the MOSFETs. An M.2 Thermal Guard prevents heat from damaging your storage device, and Smart Fan 6 uses internal temperature sensors and fan headers to ensure your components are nice and cool. The PCB is enhanced with 2x copper layer design which dissipates heat from the components due to its high thermal conductivity and lower impedance.

Connectivity

The integrated back panel of the GAMING X AX includes an array of ports, offering wide flexibility for your devices. Low-power devices such as mice and keyboards are supported via USB 2.0 Type-A ports, while USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports offer data transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s. An internal front-panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connector allows you to quickly send data to your PC without reaching towards the back. You also get access to a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) antenna for wireless connectivity and a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port for wired connections. High-end capacitors and divided audio PCB layers provide you with expansive sound and 3.5mm audio jacks for clear audio. Additionally, you get DisplayPort and HDMI outputs, providing support for processors with integrated graphics.
