The B660-A has four dual-channel memory slots, allowing you to install a maximum of 128GB of RAM with speeds up to 5333 MHz when overclocked for enhanced multitasking capabilities. Three M.2 and four SATA III inputs allow you to install an array of storage drives, ideal for your gaming library. Connect to either a wireless or wired connection thanks to the onboard Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) or the Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet port.

 

Power Design

12+1 power stages combine high-side and low-side MOSFETs and drivers into a single package, delivering the power and efficiency for the 12th generation of Intel processors. The motherboard’s high-grade chokes and durable capacitors are engineered to resist extreme temperatures, enabling ideal performance settings for gaming.

Power Control

The Digi+ voltage regulator module (VRM) ensures smooth and clean power delivery to the CPU, while the motherboard’s multi-layered printed circuit board design quickly dissipates heat around the VRM to improve overall system stability and provide the CPU with greater overclocking headroom. Additionally, the ASUS ProCool socket is designed to ensure flush contact with the PSU power lines, enabling lower impedance and better heat dissipation.

Cooling Design

The ROG Strix B660-A motherboard features a dedicated pair of PWM/DC fan headers for CPU coolers as well as a dedicated PWM/DC header for self-contained water-cooling setups. Three M.2 heatsinks help keep a mounted M.2 SSD at the optimum operating temperature for consistent performance and reliability, and each chassis header supports auto-detection of PWM or DC fans.

Two-Way AI Noise Cancellation

This powerful ASUS-exclusive utility leverages a deep-learning database to reduce background noise from the microphone and incoming audio while preserving voices. Distracting keyboard clatter, mouse clicks, and other ambient noises are removed so you can hear and be heard with clarity while gaming or during calls.

A splitter cable is required when using a 3.5mm headset.

AI Cooling

AI cooling detects CPU temperatures and uses a proprietary algorithm to calculate the lowest fan speed required to effectively cool the system and keep fan noise down. AI cooling continues to monitor the system and adjust fan speed based on current loads. Under stable system loads, the software automatically lowers fan speeds to the optimal setting, decreasing fan noise without compromising performance.

AI Networking

The proprietary ROG GameFirst VI utility is designed to help all users optimize network settings to ensure smooth online gameplay. GameFirst VI analyzes usage patterns and the digital signatures of your applications and adds them to a database of over 200,000 apps. This allows GameFirst VI to switch application priority and adjust bandwidth, depending on the situation. When gaming, it accelerates and prioritizes game packets to give you smooth online gameplay. An intuitive graph provides an overview of real-time network status. Simply click on the tab to view the current bandwidth usage of each application, geolocation status of each network connection, or an analysis of the Wi-Fi channels.
