Sporting a low-profile and 3 RU-compliant design, this dual-tower cooler features a single NF-A9 PWM fan and can support an additional user-installed fan. In addition to nickel-plated copper heatsink and pipes, this cooler boasts fan speeds of 400 to 2000 rpm at 22.8 dBA. In volume-critical applications, use the included low-noise adapter to lower the maximum fan speed to 1550 rpm, while also lowering noise to 16.3 dBA. The Noctua NH-D9L is compatible with Intel LGA 1200, 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 2011, 2011-v3, and 2066 sockets. AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, and FM2+ sockets are also supported, as are AM4 sockets from 2019 and later.

With its 95 x 95mm footprint, the NH-D9L does not overhang the RAM slots on Intel and most AMD motherboards. This gives the user full access to the memory modules and guarantees 100% compatibility with tall heatspreaders or optional memory fans. AMD motherboards violating the 96 x 114mm keep-out zone are still compatible with the NH-D9L when using RAM modules up to 1.81″ tall.
100% PCIe Card Compatibility with Mini-ITX
The 95 x 95 mm NH-D9L provides full compatibility with PCIe cards located close to the socket zone, ensuring no slots are blocked on mini-ITX, micro-ATX, or ATX motherboards.
PWM Support and Low-Noise Adapter
The NF-A9 fan supplied with the NH-D9L supports PWM for automatic speed control through the motherboard. In addition, the maximum fan speed can be reduced from 2000 to 1550 rpm using the supplied low-noise adapter, resulting in even quieter operation.
Dual Fan Ready
The NH-D9L includes an extra set of fan mounting clips for users who want to achieve even better cooling performance by adding a second, optional NF-A9 to the front fin stack. And, using a Y cable, both fans can be connected to one CPU fan header. When using two dual fans, RAM modules up to 0.86″ tall are recommended to maintain 3 RU compatibility.
SecuFirm2 Mounting System
Noctua’s SecuFirm2 mounting system supports Intel LGA 1200, 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 2011, 2011-v3, and 2066 sockets. AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, and FM2+ sockets are also supported, as are AM4 sockets from 2019 and later.
